1. From Connolly Station (Approximately 3km away)
Connolly rail Station serves the west of Ireland and is on the DART route. The simplest route to the Gate Lodge for travellers arriving at Connolly Station is via the bus. Come out of the Station and take the connection bus (#90) to Heuston Station and from Heuston the Gate Lodge is but a 5 minute walk.
2. From Heuston Station (Approximately 100m away)
Heuston rail Station serves the west of Ireland. Come out of Heuston Station and cross the first bridge you see over the river Liffey. Turn left onto Parkgate Street and walk for 2 minutes. The Gate Lodge is on your left.
3. From Dublin City Centre by Dublin Bus (Approximately 3km away)
The Gate Lodge is served by many of Dublin Bus' routes.
The 25, 25a, 66, 66a, 67,67a, 68, 69, all pass along Conyngham Road.
4. From Dun Laoghaire Harbour (About 12km away)
Dun Laoghaire is a suburb to the south of Dublin City. The harbour is the location of the main Stenna Sealink line to the United Kingdom.
Via Car
- Upon leaving Dun Laoghaire Harbour, go straight ahead onto the QueensRoad and turn right, then left up the Royal Marine Road and take a right on to George's Street. Follow the Road into Monkstown, taking the exit straight ahead at the Monkstown roundabout. Follow the Monkstown Road into Blackrock, KEEPING LEFT down the Frascati Road. Turn left up Mount Merrion Avenue, and continue along the Road until you come to the N11 dual carriageway at Stillorgan. Turn right, heading north along the N11 towards the city centre. Continue past University College Dublin and on through Donnybrook (the tall RTE broadcast tower should be on your right). Continue north along the Donnybrook Road and follow the signposted directions to the city centre across the Grand Canal and along Leeson Street and onto St. Stephens Green. Follow the Road around St. Stephens Green until the exit for Dawson Street. Head north along Dawson Street KEEPING LEFT. Turn left onto
Nassau Street. Continue through Suffolk Street and follow right onto Dame Street/College Green. You will see Trinity College straight in front of you. Now drive towards Trinity and left onto Westmoreland Street. Turn left onto the Quays and continue West along the Liffey until the 2nd from last bridge before Heuston Station. Now cross the bridge keeping left onto Parkgate Street which becomes Conyngham Road. The Gate Lodge is located at the beginning of Conyngham Road on your left.
Via DART
- When leaving the ferry terminal, go to Dun Laoghaire Station, a mere 5 minutes away. Take a northbound (towards Howth) DART ten stops to Connolly Street Station. Take the connection bus (#90) to Heuston Station.
Via Dublin Bus
- Dun Laoghaire is served by several bus routes*. The 7, 7A, 8, 46A and 111 all serve the City Centre.
** Unfortunately, these buses do not serve go past the ferry terminal and only serve George's Street, a 10-15 minute walk from the ferry terminal. We would recommend that you take a DART if you have the opportunity. Take any bus to the its city centre terminus and enquire about the nearest bus stop to Conyngham Road.
5. From Dublin Port (About 6km away)
From the Car Ferry terminal of Dublin Port, take the Alexandra Road west and turn left at the Point Depot, down the East Wall Road. Turn right and continue down the North Wall Quay as far as the Custom House. Cross the River Liffey and follow the City Quays West until the 2nd from last bridge before Heuston Station. Now cross the bridge keeping left onto Parkgate Street which becomes Conyngham Road. The Gate Lodge is located at the beginning of Conyngham Road on your left.
6. From Dublin Airport (About 12km away)
Dublin Airport is situated to the north of the City Centre. The airport is not served by train so the only way to get to the Gate Lodge is via bus, taxi or private car.
Via Dublin Bus
- We recommend the Airlink buses that connect with Heuston Station. The #748 is a regular express bus that operates between Heuston Station and Dublin Airport.
Via Car
- Departing Dublin Airport, join the southbound M1 and follow onto the M50 continuing south. Take the Blanchardstown exit and keep left continue straight through 2 roundabouts onto the Navan Road. Continue straight along the old Cabra Road to the junction with the North Circular Road known as Hanlons Corner, (There is a pub called Hanlons!). Turn right onto the North Circular Road and continue until the end of the Road and the NCR entrance to the Phoenix Park. Turn left down Infirmary Hill and right at the bottom of the Hill onto Conyngham Road. You will see the Gate Lodge directly in front of you facing the bottom of Infirmary Hill
7. From Busarus (Approximately 3km away)
Take the Heuston Station connection bus #90 to Heuston Station and follow directions to the Gate Lodge as from Heuston Station. It is but a five-minute walk.
